Hiltonia Association General Meeting
Minutes from May 19, 2014
The March 19 meeting was held at the home of Margaret Mason.
The 2014 Hiltonia House Tour was a success. There were a total of 116 tickets sold which was very good considering the rainy weather in the afternoon.
In total we had $1,200 income in advertisements, $1,899.92 in ticket sales and finished with $801 in profit to reinvest back into further tours and/or neighborhood improvements such as our new sign.
We have a $240 budget for landscaping around the sign.
First up was a presentation from the Community Music School in Trenton. It has a program called Music for the Very Young that they teach in preschools. Their program teaches mostly piano, guitar and violin and offers financial aid. The school teaches at the Katzenbach School for the Deaf in addition to engaging senior centers.
Sam Frisby of the YMCA then gave a short presentation on the work of the Trenton Y. They now have 1,000 members. They gave a dance recital at the Trenton War Memorial attended by 1,400 people. They Y also built the playground at Monument Elementary School, have summer programs and were able to give away some financial aid.
Cynthia Hargis of the Trenton PD told the group that 116 tickets had been given out recently.
The meeting was adjourned.
