Proposed 2013 Constitution and By-laws

Please click HERE to download a proposed update to the Constitution and By-laws for the Hiltonia Association.

We will vote to adopt these at the September 11th meeting (location to be determined).

Discussion is welcome via the email group or directly with me if you prefer.  This document has been posted to the website under “news” and “association info” and written notice will be given to each house in the neighborhood of their availability on the next flyer (June).

Most of the changes are formatting and grammar, but functional changes include, but are not limited to, these items.

Constitution:

  • (Art 3, Sec 1) Boundary definitions clarified
  • (Art 3, Sec 2-4) Membership types expanded to include family memberships and honorary memberships
  • (Art 5, Sec 1) Standing committees updated
  • (Art 7, Sec 1-2) Process for making or appealing amendments added/updated

By-laws:

  • (Art 1, Sec 1.1) Dues amount updated to allow for dues rates to be set by membership vote
  • (Art 1, Sec 1.2) Dues amount for family membership added
  • (Art 2, Sec 2-8) Duties of various committees have been updated
  • (Art 5, Sec 3) Adding of proxy voting for all motions up for vote EXCEPT election of officers
  • (Art 6, Sec 1) Quorum updated to reflect 15 members OR 30% of membership and allows for proxies to count towards quorum.

I look forward to your feedback!

Membership Drive!!!

The May 2013 Hilltone went to every address in Hiltonia this week.  With it was information about membership.  Those of you who are members were asked to reach out to your neighbors.  Those households that do not have members were asked to consider joining. That simple act added 7 new households to the rolls in two days and more are expected.

As part of our attempt to increase participation, Dues can now be paid online through Paypal!  On the right of your screen –> choose if you are paying for a One Adult or 2+ Adult membership, type in your address, and click “Pay Now” to be taken to the Paypal website to complete the transaction.  No more checks, envelopes, or stamps!
